A look inside Monique's space

Hi everyone, it’s my turn to show you all my scrap area.

When I started scrapping seriously three years ago, I had no scrap area, and my stash was hidden away in a cupboard. As I am a self – confessed paper and flower addict (especially Prima – yum!) my collection quickly began outgrowing its home.

As I am not lucky enough to have a spare room in our house to turn into a scraproom, I converted one end of the main bedroom into a storage and scrapping area.

I had the baker’s stand in our shed, and so I decided to use it for my paper storage – I have 12x12 paper holders sorted into all my favourite brands, and believe it or not, it is actually really easy to find things!!  I also use the baskets to store my glimmermist and screens, and other bits and pieces.

The drawers hold my chipboard, special flowers, embellishments, bling and OTP basics.

My flower/button/ribbon storage is a work in progress - I am slowly gathering together a variety of jars to sort everything according to colour.

I really like my little area, it looks like chaos, but it’s organised chaos!!  It is so much easier to create when I have everything on hand, and easy to find!!

I also got some of the gorgeous new Prima this week, and couldn’t wait to create with it – it is a stunning range, and Prima have really done a fantastic job, yet again!!

This layout is about my Nanna when she was a very young girl – with her dolly.  I was lucky enough to score some vintage photos from my Mum a while ago, and I am slowly scrapping them into a special album.  The gorgeous papers and embellishments just begged me to do a shabby, vintage layout.

Hello,

My turn today, I would like to share a few pictures of my creative space with you all… as you can see I am lucky enough to have my own little room with all my treasures – for storage I guess I have a range of different ideas form bottles of ribbon to a tic tac rack that my husband ( god bless him) salvaged from the back of a shop that holds my inks. Really it’s just a combination of things that I like and serve a purpose (well that’s what I keep telling myself, LOL) 

 
 

I also want to share the LO I did for the SIA Awards last year, that was entered as part of Design Team of the Year , I am ever so proud to show this one off as we “The Addicted to Craft Design Team” where the the winning team for 2009.

Renee Dowling

Hi,

My name is Renee; I live in Queensland, with my Husband Simon and 3 children, Zac 7, Kye 5 and Elly 4 who are the soul of all my inspiration. I have always had a strong passion for art and photography, so when I was introduced to scrapbooking many years  ago, I never looked back….

 I enjoy creating single and double page layouts as well as Card Creations. I find inspiration from every angle, my style is generally simple and clean with bundled embellishments, however it is always evolving in many directions. I enjoy making use of the negative space on a page and cutting paper into various shapes to create interesting designs. However I am always willing to go in another direction if that’s where it takes me, whether it is lashing out with paints and inks or making my own handmade embellishments which I have really enjoyed adding to my LO’s over the past 6mths.

 My free time is  spent with my family and friends in the great outdoors .I love , boating, reading and now spend many weekends watching my kids on the motorcross track .. Being a happy mum and a wife allows me to know I have an  amazing life and so much to look forward to.

 I am so excited to be part of the A2C Design Team for the a consecutive year  and look forward to creating some  wonderful projects to share as well as working alongside some talented women that share the same passion.

 

                                                   

 

Monique Follett

My name is Monique, and I live in beautiful Mackay, on the North Qld coast.  I am married to Mark, my usually sweet husband, and am Mummy to Connor, a  sweet little 5 year old boy.
I started scrapping when Connor was born about 5 years ago, but didn't get serious until 3 years ago, when I wandered into my LSS and became mesmerised by all the gorgeous products available!  At that moment, I was totally addicted!!
I adore every aspect of scrapping.  I am constantly trying to learn ways to improve my photography and photo editing skills and I love trying new techniques and products and experimenting with how to use them on my pages.  Most of all, I love the idea that I am preserving memories, of both the special occasions and the everyday, for my family to treasure.
I'm not really sure of my style,  - I love using colour to tell the story, bright and bold for fun layouts, muted and soft for vintage and whimsical layouts.  I also love creating texture on my pages, so distressing, stitching and paint/ink are usually seen on my layouts.
I am so excited and proud to be part of the Addicted To Craft Design Team, and I am looking forward to working with the team at Addicted to Craft to showcase some of the most beautiful and exciting products on the market.

Sarah Gladman

Welcome to Addicted to Craft, everyone. My name is Sarah and I have to admit that I am an obsessed scrapbooker - have been since the birth of my eldest child 9 years ago.

My scrapping style has certainly evolved over time - ranging from crisp and minimal to vintage and romantic layering - yet what remains consistent throughout each of my layouts is the love of creating and of finding the means to use products in ways they haven't been used before. I love to teach - in fact I am a high school Visual Arts and Photography teacher - but since I became a full time mother I have stopped teaching in schools and started teaching online. I am now thrilled to be a part of the Addicted to Craft design team as well as a Scrapbooking Memories Master for 2010. I hope I can help show you ways to use our fabulous products and I would love for you to ask any questions about Tips, Techniques or Products that you might need help with. I am so excited to be working with this wonderful team, too!

 

 

Susan Longman

 I am Susan Longman a stay at home mum who is extremely lucky to have 2 beautiful children a son, Ashton and daughter, Eve along with a fabulous man, Rob in my life. I have been scrapbooking for about 6 years and feel fortunate to have found this amazing craft that captures my family’s life so completely.  My pages are influences strongly by the subject I am scrapping I love feminine pages using lots of flowers and girly colours when I scrap my daughter and for my sons pages I tend to heavily distress and grunge the pages using bold colours. The one constant on my pages is central orientation and balanced embellishing…I tend to  showcase most my work on my blog and am a member of a couple of forums where I like to play…I am very excited about the opportunity I have been given by Addicted To Craft and look forward to sharing my layouts with you.

 

 

Kellie Lusted

 hi my name is Kellie (AKA Kell) and I am excited to be a part of the Addicted to Craft team for 2010.  I have been a passionate scrapper for the past 5/6 years and still enjoy the craft.  I am married Mum of 2, Bailey and Ashlee.  They feature quite regularly in my pages!  I have no set type of scrapping I love to try all things but always tend to scrap to the middle of the page in 12x12 format.  I will use all colours and types of Patterned paper and always use a multi worded title.  So there’s the brief run down of me and I look forward to being part of the team for 2010!

 

Trina McClune

Hi! My name is Trina McClune. I live in Auckland, NZ with my husband and 3 young children. As a family we love to garden, fish, camp, ski and hang out with our cat and 6 chickens.  I’ve been scrapping since my first children Matt and Sarah started sleeping through the night (Easter 2003). And even these many years later I still love it as much (maybe even more!). I love the artistic side of it, but also how I’ve preserved so many memories that might have been forgotten otherwise. I’ve been on several DT’s including Australian and NZ magazines (For Keeps creative scrapbooking, & Up2Scrap), Manufacturers , shops and challenge blogs. I have been published in several magazines including ones in USA, NZ and Australia, plus on blogs such as “Scrapscene”.I love to teach, and have been lucky enough to teach at LSS, plus online. I am thrilled to be part of the Addicted to Craft DT and look forward to the coming year.

 

 

Sonia Thomason

 I am Mum to two beautiful girls aged 4 and 6 and wife to Kym for the past 15 years. I have been scrapbooking for 5 years and absolutely love it (well addicted would be a more precise way of putting it!). It is my relax time, me time, de-stress time, create time and just general fun time! I would describe my style as a little bit vintage and a little bit shabby chic but it changes depending on the photo and products I’m using. I am always willing to try out new techniques and just generally giving things a go. I don’t believe there are any mistakes in scrapbooking – just opportunities for discovering a new way of doing it!

I was fortunate enough to be part of the fabulous Addicted to Craft Design Team last year and I am so excited to be part of it for another year. The products are amazing and anyone that knows me would realize I have a slight addiction problem with Prima and My Mind’s Eye – I can’t get enough of them!! I am looking forward to a wonderful year ahead working with this amazing team and incredible products.

 

 

Tatum Woodroffe

I am Tatum Woodroffe, mum to 4 (Charlotte 7, Lillian 6, Sebastian 3 and Jasmine who will be 1 in April) and wife to Steven.  We currently live in a mining town in the South Australian desert but I am an Adelaide girl originally.  I have been scrapping for about 4 1/2 years now and have really been enjoying getting back into a bit of sewing in the last few months as I was a quilter before I started scrapbooking.  Mostly I scrap layouts, both in 12x12 and 8.5 x 11 but I also love sitting down and sinking my teeth into a mini album here and there!  

I am thrilled to be joining Brett & Luisa, Angella and the rest of the team for another year with Addicted to Craft, I know that it is going to be an amazing year and I cannot wait to both share my creations with you, see wonderful inspiration from the rest of the design team and be inspired by the work you, the readers, share with us!

I have been a scrap booking for almost 11 years now, I caught the bug after my youngest child was born and have been totally addicted ever since.  I am mum to 5 cherished babies aged 20 down to 11, I still see them as my babies they see themselves as my scrapbooking subjects.  I love to share my scrapbooking passion with the many great friends I have met through this craft and am currently teaching at 2 Scrapbook stores in the Sydney area.  I love to design and create with my Pazzle Inspiration, my favourite tool …..one I use everyday and could never live without.  I see Scrapbooking as a way of life, without memories life is not a journey it’s just a passage of time.

Hi there my name is Melleny (Mel) Ams. I have been married to my childhood sweetheart  Chris, for 18 years this year. We are very blessed to have four happy, healthy children Kayla (15) Zac (13) Kloe (10) and Jarred (6). We live in a small country town, in south western Victoria. I would consider myself an all round crafter. I love all types of crafts, but I must say scrapbooking and cardmaking is my passion. Creating for me is like breathing, it is something I need to do. I have been very fortunate and had many wonderful opportunities through my scrapbooking and cardmaking. I am looking forward to being on the Addicted to Craft team again this year and I hope that I can inspire you.

My Minds Eye Life Stories

Sonia has been busy creating this lovely gift box and two gorgeous layouts using My Minds Eye Life Stories Collection and of course, some of her favourite Prima Blossoms

   
 The gift box has a Juliette flower on it and the MME journaling card 
  

On ‘Self Portrait’ I’ve used a Painted Lady, white Flutter vine, some mini roses and some Trelis Roses. One Trelis Rose I gave a really light spray with Memory Mist in Vivid Turquoise and the other one I left white and just used the centre part to make a small rose.

 

On ‘This is my absolute happiness’ I’ve used a Woodstock Maple flower and some Gallery Roses Quillen. The butterflies were stamped using a Lizzie Anne Designs Au Naturale stamp set. I cut a Journaling card in half to use on the gift box and I used the other end with the flourish on this layout just behind the journaling.

Hi it's Mel here. Sunday is Valentines Day, so today I am going to share a little love with you using My Minds Eye Be Loved Collection.

  
 

Chocolate Slider - A quick and easy gift idea.

 
You will need a piece of  8" x 9 ½" Cardstock

Score at ½", 1", 5" and 5 ½" (Along the 9 ½" side)

Fold on all scores. Tape sides together.

Punch holes in centre top.

Double a piece of ribbon and lay it along the slider, add a bit extra for tying a ribbon, cut. Thread the ribbon through the holes.

Add your chocolate and slide into the box. Tie the ribbon in a bow. Decorate as desired.

Don't forget to tell your loved ones, how much you love and appreciate them.

October Afternoon Projects

 Hello,

It's Renee here today,I hope everyone has enjoyed drooling over all the new products that are coming our way from the CHA - It's a scrappers heaven at this time of year.

I'd like to share some Layouts I created this  using one of my favorite manufactures - the gorgeous October Afternoon - Cherry Hill Range, I loved working with these papers the sunny Yellow and Greens paired with the neutral background papers was the colour palette I choose to use from this range for these 3 projects..

Here is the first one "Mother and Son" - I have also used the matching Card stock Stickers from the Cherry Hill Range.
        

        

"Sunshine" -  was created with the same  papers as well as adding my own background water colour doodling over the top of the newsprint Paper from the Cherry Hill Range, I also added a handfull of prima flowers to finish it off.

      

        

      

 

For the one "Sweet Summer" I have used Gel- a - tins stamps paired with the palette Stamp and stick Glitter to create a background against the neutral background
