Pazzle Tutorial

 Hello everyone,

as promised!!!!

want to learn how to vectorize, and fit text to circle ?

card is fully made with the pazzle

this tutorial uses your cutting blade and pen tool....

Back to School

For my teacher Card

 

Step 1

Open your program to a 12x 12 page

Open your apple image you have saved to your desktop

(I found the image in Google images)

  

Step 2

Click on the Auto trace button, a sub menu will appear

Click OK

(Your image is vectorizing)

When complete, delete the original image

Step 3

Now with this image you can pull apart the pieces of the apple

As shown, just click on the apple and start dragging pieces away with your mouse.

 

Step 4

When all the pieces are pulled apart,

Copy and paste the large piece of apple so you have 2

Click on move point tool

You will see scissors appear at your top tool bar

Step 5

 Click on the Cut straight line tool,

 Across one of the large pieces of apple

Click a line across the stem (as shown)

You are cutting the stem off.

Step 6

You can see now we have cut the stem off

 

Step 7

Now delete the apple you have cut the stem off,

But keeping the stem.

Step 8

Now copy and paste the apple again.

This is your base card, Go to the tool bar menu at top of the screen, and scroll down to transform.

Click on Mirror- a sub menu will appear click ok

 

Step 9

Your apple will be upside down now,

Moving your apple so it is positioned on top of the other apple,

Making sure it is overlapping a bit.

Step 10

Draw a box around the two apples with your mouse, select the join selected element tool and click, they are joined now.

Step 11

Now click on the front part of the apple

Click red colour on colour chart then x in the p box

As shown

You are now colouring your pieces and removing the black lines around

The shapes, when it comes to cutting you will see why

Continue this process with all your pieces.

Colour match to what colour cardstock you are going to cut them out of.

 

Step 12

Draw a circle

Make sure it is selected, and I made my circle colour light purple

Step 13

Then Go to right hand side toolbar and click on your type menu

Your font menu will appear, type in the words for my teacher (font used Helvetica Medium blue print) then OK

Step 14

Then top of screen click on toolbar text, scroll down to fit text to circle

A sub menu will appear, click on the inside box as shown

Step 15

A little arrow will appear near your circle, move this arrow with your mouse so you can adjust your text

For a better fit into the circle

Step 16

Now you are ready to cut and draw

Click on the colour box that you want to cut first

Click the red box, place red cardstock in the machine; it will only cut the red etc

 

When it comes time to drawing your text circle

Draw it first

Then cut, but watch very carefully, when it finishes cutting the circle! pause the machine as you do not want it to cut the words …

it's my Space

I do  like my space!  I have two favourite places in my house, my rocking chair on the back decking, and my scrapping area...... we have an old gable home,(still renovating)

and I have taken what you would call, back in it's hey day the sleep out ! it is nice and cool out there in the summer.... but warm and cosy in the winter.....

My area very much reflexs my style of scrapping, I love green, pretty things, and old style touches.. But I have to admit abit of a paper junkie, just love all the pretty papers

and just love doing OTP projects ...... my house is full of my creations

My pazzles sadly does not belong in my scrap area, we need the computer to stay in the office, so it is situated in the office, but mind you I am forever on the road with it......

I think my pazzle has been the most travelled machine, where ever I go she goes!

the teachers  Card is fully created on the pazzle machine, I fit the journalling text to path

Lately I havn't had much time to really scrap, in general that I can show you,  but have managed to sneak in a bit of prima wonderness!!!! ......... couldn't resist

I just love doing whimsical creations......................

Mel's little corner

Hi it's Mel here. My turn to show you my little corner of the world. 

My creative space is a corner of the kids TV room. It's small and practical and I am never lonely. There is always someone in there watching, playing or arguing over something. I wouldn't have it any other way :)

I have a large L shaped desk which gives me plenty of room. The room has great natural light and overlooks my front garden. I have all my supplies close at hand. My tools are all stored on the desk, along with my laptop and printer. Papers and alphas are stored under the desk. All my other items are stored in labeled boxes on the bookcase, that is in the room. A few of my latest layouts are on the wall, along with a pin board and clipboards, that help keep track of things.

 

I have a typical teenage boy who's attitude is 'It's cool to know nothing'. He thinks that way, he is less likely to get into trouble.

Her favourite tool is the the pazzle !!!

My Craft room is my therapy room but really it is the garage, it is attached to the house and I can enter from my lounge room.  I have 2/3 for my scrap stuff and my husband runs the family business from the other 1/3.  We do have a wall between us with a door but I have so many supplies that you can no longer see the door.  I imagine my craft space to be clutter free with everything in its place, unfortunately I experiment with so many different mediums and I have to have them all out at once so I have to say that in my mind it is a sanctum but in reality its piles and piles of craft stuff. I do know were everything is though.

I have a passion for ribbon collecting as you can see from one of my ribbon boxes, I have 12 of these and a big bag yet to be wound.  My wooden stamps, which I have found a new appreciation for are stored in 6 hot pink a4 document boxes. My much loved Pazzle is the only place on my desk that is not cluttered as it is always in use. I also couldn’t live without my Canon camera, without it I wouldn’t be a Scrapbooker and of course you will always find a glass bottle of Diet coke, this is my caffeine boost which is always at hand especially good for craft all nighters. 

 

My favourite tool is my Pazzle you could say it’s my third hand, I use it for everything. I don’t think I have a project from the last 12 months that doesn’t have at least one element created with my PI.  My kids use it for school projects all the time, it also came in very handy for their HSC major works portfolios.  I like to create my own files as well as spending time on the internet finding pre-made images that I can use on my craft projects.  I love that I now have over 3,000 true type fonts that I can choose from for my layouts and cards and that I can have any size I want.  I even have a cutting file for matting my photos, this comes in very handy when you have multiple photos to matt, it can be done in minutes rather than having to measure everything by hand.  I could never go back to life without my PI it is such an INSPIRATION.

On the layout I created I have used my PI to cut my title, the double butterfly, the mats around my photo, the Grecian style flourish and matt and the leaves under my handmade flower.  I felt that this photo needed an Art Nouveau feel which is why I used Andes as my font it has a very 1900’s feel to it.  The Butterfly has been cut twice, one is slightly smaller than the other and I have also cut the butterfly without the detailed wings so that I had a solid shape to back my die cut with.  The smaller butterfly has had part of its body and antennae removed using the scissor feature in the PI software so that it can be overlayed over the larger B/F to create the fluttering effect.  I love to use large flowers that make a statement on my layouts but sometimes they can detract from your photo so I created this flower using a white tulle Bonbonniere circle.  By using tulle you can still see through to the photo and embellishments under the flower.  I have edged the flower in hand dyed ribbon braid.  I used coffee as dye to achieve the antique finish that I ended up with.  To finish off this layout I have added some liquid glitter (Crystal) because you can never have too much glitz on a girly layout.

Mummy's room

Hi everyone it's Tatum here, welcome to ‘mummy’s’ room as it gets called.  I am lucky enough to have half of our family room which is right at the back of the house with a door that closes J

 

From top to bottom:

·         My long sewing table which sits under the window.  I love the light, bright feel in my room and I actually enjoy the ‘suburbia’ view out the window because it means I might be somewhere other than in the desert (the front windows of our house look out at a red sand dune!).  This table also does double duty as a space for my kids to draw or ‘cut and stick’ or for a friend (or sister) to join me for some scrapping.

·         One of my 2 Expedit bookshelves, they are my room dividers and that 2 tier ‘box’ tucked next to it is on casters so that I can use it as a door to keep small children out when I’m not in there!  This is where most of my stash is kept…I am jut a little bit of a paper junkie as you can see and the green and red stacked boxes are both filled to the brim with ribbon (I think it bred in the box it used to live in LOL)

·         The heart of my room, this is my main table but sometimes I’ll sit on the floor or stand at the sideboard J  This is what it looks like when I’m busy and it is only ever tided up for a brief moment so I can dive back in again.  I like keeping some scraps around me as they often inspire unplanned additions to my layouts.

·         The green bucket is my ‘chuck in’ spot for quick tidy ups and often serves as an inspiration point for embellishing layouts.

·         There was nowhere else in the house for our sideboard when we moved in so I quickly claimed it.  To the left is a caddy for stickers and rubons (soon to be replaced with a clip-it-up), my punches and paper trimmer and to the right is my painting mat.  The inside of the sideboard is probably the most organised place in my room J

I was inspired by the tutorial in this month’s Scrapbooking Memories Magazine to have a go at a collage background on this layout.  Most of the papers are older Iron Orchid Designs Prima papers and I have used a few old MME diecut bits too. 

I arranged and stuck them down then painted over with a white paint wash to bring it all together.  I cut the centre from some prima stitched mulberry paper and used it as a border on the page.  I finished it off with some big prima flowers and prima alphas for the title.  A bit of messy fun J

Sonia's Space

Hi everyone

Sonia here to share a layout and some pictures of my scrapping space. I’ve been quite envious seeing some of the spaces the other girls have as I scrap in our home office and don’t have a dedicated scrap space. Now while I can close the door on any mess if visitors come over, I still need to keep everything reasonably neat so we can still work in there too!

Next to my computer I have my everyday bits and pieces such as pens, inks, paints and my most used papers and alphas (yep there’s quite a bit of Prima in there as usual!).

 

On top of my filing cabinet I have some more paper (You just can’t have enough paper after all!), some tools, my latest layout and the black files have my stamps in them.

 

 

 

The bookcase has slowly been taken over by my scrapping stash. As I hate having loose layouts around the place my album collection is getting a bit out of hand! The plastic folders hold some papers and embellishments by manufacturer so they are easy to find.

Last but not least my Creative Cutter and sprays on my desk:

I had a bit of fun and mixed up a few brands for my layout. The papers are from the gorgeous new range from Scribble Scrabble ‘Nana’s Trunk’ – I just adore that turquoise blue. I sprayed the base paper with some Stewart Superior memory Mist in ‘Vivid Turquoise’ and then went to town with the beautiful flowers and crystal swirls from Prima Marketing. The butterflies are cut from the new Flights of Fancy paper ‘Miss Pretty’. The small alpha stickers are from October Afternoon:

Trina's turn

Hi Trina here with details of my ‘scrap space’.

 

My husband would tell you, it’s actually the dining room table that I’ve taken over. Grin. But as they say needs must.

I keep all my ‘must have’s’ for a LO nearby. Tools, pens, etc to the front and side of me. Inks, beads, and a few vital stamps are on the ‘tower’ beside me. The telly is above so I can watch as I scrap.

In this photo you can see the basics. I had just finished a LO so had ‘tidied’ up. There’s normally a lot more mess.

I also have a ‘fish bin’ just behind me where I keep all my latest or favourite things – alphabets, bling, flowers etc etc. And my most recent papers are in a box on the floor.

I have ‘most’ of my ‘stuff’ in our sleep out. But that’s a whole other story.

My favourite storage piece is my large plastic clear box where I store all my extra/leftover Prima flowers. I love to rummage through it until I find just the right flower.

We are in an older house, and one day will renovate, I can’t wait as I have grand ideas for my very own scrap space. Dreams are free, right?!

Hello Blog readers, it’s my turn to share....

 

Here is some photos of where I Love to create, take a good look because it won’t stay this clean for long!  I am lucky enough to have a whole room/office to use as my scrap room, even with its very own toilet and sink.  It is down stairs under the house so I can shut myself away and scrap to my hearts content!  I have a small desk (well an old kitchen table) and some cupboards and shelves to store all my stash, nothing matches but one day I will have a deluxe room all fresh and white....  When I win lotto!  But for now its a place I enjoy to retreat to  and create special memories for my family. 

 
I have used Piggy tales range of patterned papers for this page along with matching Chipboard and sticker alphas and rubons.  I have also used some Maya Road cogs.

 

 

Susan's Scrap Space

My scrap space is a small area on the landing at the top of my stairwell. I have managed to have my “handy” man convert this small area into a very functional scrapping retreat with shelves to hold my flowers, buttons, embellishments, brads, mists and assorted other items on. I have 2 stamp pad racks that hold all my inks and 5 cropper hoppers for all my papers. My punches are housed in a “shoe tidy” and hang to the left of my desk. I have a laundry cupboard that stores my cardstock, stamps, paints and scraps. My ribbons are sorted by colour and hang from album rings and bull clips on the side of the cupboard door. Rob has made me a hanging rack which is directly in front of my scrap desk and this holds most of my chipboard embellishments. All other items including alphas, photos, adhesives, rub-ons, book papers and bits are stored in canvas drawers in a unit under my ink rack.  I like to be organised as I find it difficult to scrap in a mess and usually will clean up after every 3-4 layouts…I find it as satisfying as actually creating a layout …I love to play with my stash.

The layout I have created is using Prima Indeed papers and Prima hessian flowers. Hope you like J

This collage shows my new Studio space - guaranteed it no longer looks as clean and tidy as that! lol
