For this tutorial I thought I would do something a little different with the embossing tool, I hope you enjoy !
First, I chose an image from Google images and copied it to a new document in the Pazzle software. I then vectorised the image using the Auto trace feature, or you can use any image from the extensive Pazzle library with no need to vectorise.
After the vectorisation I was left with some lines that I didn’t want to leave on my image so I manually removed them by clicking on the area with my Select Elements tool then right clicked my mouse and choose the Delete Selection feature. This will remove the piece that was selected from the design. Once all of this has been done you are now ready to emboss your design.
For the second element, I used a font called Aaa_BZH Normal, selected the letter b, to give me the image used on my card. I set my size to 2.5 “ and drew the image onto my black cardstock using my trusty Pen Tool and a gold paint marker. Once this was done I added a 0.02 outline (Tools - Outline) to the outside of the design and cut the circle out.
To finish off the project I decorated the foil with alcohol inks to get the warm copper toning and added a sentiment, a button and some ribbon. To finish Dimensional Magic was added to the design element inside my circular embellishment.
Here's a close up of the detail and effect of the embossing on foil and the great effect of the pen tool.
This was so simple and quick to do and is definitely a technique I am going to use on my scrapbook layouts. Bring on Father’s day I can already see the finished layout now.
Have fun, till next time
